Does unlocking reload my tabs?
No. Lock uses a cover tab per window. Background tabs keep their URL, scroll, and form state.
Does any data leave my device?
No. There is no analytics, telemetry, or remote server for extension logic. Secrets are stored as salted hashes only.
Can someone with my PC disable the lock?
Yes. A browser extension cannot stop someone with device access from disabling it in chrome://extensions, deleting the profile, or using another OS. It is a deterrent, not full device security.
How do I lock quickly?
Default shortcut is Alt+Shift+L (remappable in chrome://extensions/shortcuts). The profile also re-locks on browser start and after your idle timeout.
What if I forget my PIN?
Use the one-time recovery code shown at setup. After recovery you must set a new secret. Store that code offline when you set up.
Is TOTP required?
No. Authenticator 2FA is optional. Unlock with authenticator alone is also optional and off by default.
